Delegates from Timor Leste Mr. Fábio de Magalhães as a Technical Regulator and Mr. Renato H. da Costa as a Jr. Technical Regulator represented from National Communications Authority of Timor Leste had participated the 'CyberQ: Security in the Quantum Era Conference' in Abu Dhabi, Uni Arab Emirates (UAE), from 12-13 November 2024. The event hosted by UAE Cyber Security Council, in supported by Technology Innovation Institute (TII) and endorsed by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), this groundbreaking conference that brought together over industry leaders and government entities to hear from quantum technology experts on the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of key sectors. One of the highlights was the UAE achieving two Guinness World Records: 309 participants largest Quantum Computing Lesson and 87 countries most nationalities in a Quantum Computing Lesson.

 

The conference featured crucial discussions such as:
Quantum-Safe Encryption Solutions: Exploring advanced technologies to secure our digital future.
NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography Standards: Discussing the path toward a quantum-secure global economy.
Quantum-Enabled Security Technologies: Including quantum key distribution (QKD) and quantum random number generation (QRNG).
Global Cyber Collaboration: Emphasizing the need for international cooperation amid rising cyber threats.
AI and Quantum Synergy: Insights into how artificial intelligence intersects with quantum capabilities.
